The Radiance of Cosmic Trance
Late-Night Focus Session // An Open Conversation with Emily Star and the Lab Founder
1. Reviewer: The FEEL HEAT BEAT project sounds incredibly massive, like a gigantic laser rave. Vitaly, how did you manage to harmoniously combine this transparent Progressive House and heavy Psy-Trance with gentle female vocals?
VitSem (Author's Avatar): It's all about the correct weight distribution. Heavy hard-trance requires a colossal vocal delivery. In FEEL HEAT BEAT, we went down the path of extreme contrast: I kept a dense, uncompromising electronic drive, built a massive, soaring wall of synthesiser arpeggios, and unlocked a driving, solid rhythm. Yet, right at the epicentre, we placed the crystalline, touching voice of Emily Star. The result is a stunning contrast where a powerful festival impact meets the warmth of a human heart. This is electronic music that makes you want to dance and reflect at the same time.
2. Reviewer: Emily, your vocals are often described as angelic and soaring. How do you manage to transmit this lyrical depth in English over Vitaly’s powerful signature rhythm?
Emily Star (via translator): English in trance is a timeless classic; ballads just sound uniquely cosmic in it. Vitaly's lyrics are filled with stories about the search for sincerity amidst a cold digital world, and when you sing them over his progressive beat, the emotions redouble. I don't try to shout; I sing very softly, carefully, letting it float to create a weightless sensation. When you look through the studio glass and see Vitaly himself dialing in Psy-build-ups on analogue synthesisers while Ilya Voronov locks in the takes at the mixing console, you physically feel the music lifting off into deep space.

The Secret Behind Emily Star's Frequency Clarity
A unique fact from the collective's studio practice: Emily is plagued by severe claustrophobia in stuffy, enclosed vocal booths. To capture that exact weightless and crystal-clear vocal mood, Ilya Voronov completely dismantled one of the soundproofing isolation shields and set up the microphone right in the center of the massive live room. As a result, the track captured a natural, organic room ambience that perfectly melted into the Progressive production concept.
3. Reviewer: Vitaly, Alexey Romanov's live acoustic guitar literally dissolves into trance effects here. Isn’t our rock virtuoso offended by stepping into the shadows?
VitSem (Author's Avatar): Just give Romanov a chance to experiment! Alexey is a master of subtle nuances, and when we suggested weaving a live acoustic web into a trance melody, he was thrilled. He plays with his fingertips on nylon strings, and I route this sound through digital filters. As a result, Romanov’s guitar doesn’t dominate; instead, it shimmers somewhere deep within the pads, reminding the listener with its driving stroke that a living human stands behind the digital code.
4. Reviewer: Vitaly, your flawless timing in complex Psy-Trance build-ups is mind-blowing. Where does this mental precision and ability to maintain focus in a chaos of frequencies come from?
VitSem (Author's Avatar): My personal, long-standing yoga practice helps me immensely here. Yoga isn't just a mat; it’s the ability to completely clear the consciousness of unnecessary mental clutter, control your breathing, and maintain an ironclad inner balance. When you sit at the mixing console to map out complex trance architecture, this skill of cutting out everything redundant works one hundred percent. You see the audio wave crystal-clear, construct the perfect timing, and the track gains a powerful, deliberate pulsation that grounds the stadium.
5. Reviewer: Vitaly, you use a massive amount of Psy-Trance elements in your arrangements. How difficult is it to preserve the lyrical depth in such a aggressive genre?
VitSem (Author's Avatar): That is exactly where the high-precision craft lies. Psy-Trance saws deliver a crazy forward momentum to the track, forcing the stadium to explode. But we intentionally smooth out the sharp edges using Progressive chords. Our task is not to deafen the listener, but to make them feel every single line. The track's dramaturgy is designed so that after a furious build-up, absolute silence strikes, and Emily's crystal voice shines in absolute purity. It gives you goosebumps.
6. Reviewer: Emily, the project's lyrics are a conversation about emotions in the digital age. Is it difficult to translate such a fragile theme over a stadium groove?
Emily Star (via translator): It's a striking contrast. When Oliver Kidd’s drums are thundering all around and Laurent Vernier’s bass is pulsing, your gentle vocals become the primary anchor for the listener. My songs are a manifesto of sincerity. We remind people that amidst the neon lights of a metropolis, the most valuable asset remains the warmth of a human heart. Vitaly's dance rhythm simply helps convey this message to millions.
7. Reviewer: Emily, how did the idea to name the project FEEL HEAT BEAT even come about? Who came up with this wordplay around a "hot beat"?
Emily Star (via translator): The name was born right in the middle of a late-night session, when we were arguing until hoarse about the bass concept. Vitaly was sitting at the mixing console, mapping out this dense wall of frequencies, and suddenly said: "All this digital electronics is dead unless it holds the warmth of a human heart (Heat), and every rhythmic impact (Beat) must carry the listener's life within it." We instantly caught onto that phrase. FEEL HEAT BEAT is a call to feel that a living pulse beats behind every heavy club rhythm.
